Read “Paragraphing: The MEAL” plan, available on the “Readings” tab of the course website. In your homework notebook, write what each letter in the MEAL plan stands for. Use your own words; don’t just copy what’s in the essay.
Decide on your four main points: two with the grain & two against the grain. Write them down somewhere you can easily access in class (e.g. in a Word document, on a sheet of notebook paper) and bring them back to class, along with an accessible record/list of the quotations you found during your research. You will need this material on hand during class for our work.
